Scar-Jo movie career wasn't going so well for her liking. She was financially secure and with roles - albeit as supporting players - in upcoming franchise flicks made sure she would be relatively busy. However, as a driven individual with streak of perfectionism, she was deeply unsatisfied with her achievements so far.
Particularly so when her compatriot Natalie Portman - someone she admires and hates in equal measure - became a critical darling, winning plaudits and awards for Black Widow and landing a soul mate along the way.
It was a bad year for Scarlett. She already waived her non-nudity clause. Something she meant to do once she turned 25....if her career wasn't where she hoped to be. The New Yorker was left devastated when she was turned down for role of Lisbeth Salander. Painstakingly prepared herself for the audition and impressing the hell out of David Fincher, Scar-Jo thought she nailed it, thinking she was favorite for the lead only to be told she was too glamorous to portray The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Fincher felt the blonde would inadvertently drowned the story and the character with her larger than life Scarlett-ism.
"But the thing with Scarlett is, you can't wait for her to take her clothes off" Fincher later admitted in an interview.
In between, she's been taking calls from well-respected English director, keeping her in the loop of his next movie project slated to shoot next year. It was also a way to make sure his female lead don't back out at the last minute.
Scar-Jo unofficially agreed to be the lead after lengthy discussions that began back in 2009. Initially alarmed by the level of nudity she would be required to perform after perusing the original script (before revision), she eventually said aye after talking over with her team around the same time her heart was being broken by Ryan.
If Scar-Jo thought 2010 was bad, 2011 proved to be her own annus horribilis.
The aftermath of her divorce led the curvy blonde on a run of brief hook-ups and sulky behavior on the set. She lost tremendous weight and her famous curves. Some whispered it was for a film role. Others were worried her marital woes took a toll on Scar-Jo psyche, leaving her an empty shell.
A spate of dating the most eligibles and the creepiest in town was Scar-Jo solution to coping with heartbreak, loneliness and the emotional turmoil after two roller coaster years with that Canadian fucktard.
Ryan a decent enough perv with a penchant for requesting nude selfies of his 'women'. The hunk substituting a statuesque blonde for a marble mouthed blonde. Lucky fella!
Her longest 'relationship' in this period was with Sean Penn who was going through own issues with his family. The impetuous actor appeared to be the perfect match for equally out spoken Scar-Jo. She was smitten and convinced herself Sean was not a rebound. Alas, Sean was merely looking for a temporary place or in this case, hole to 'parked his cock' while he hoped to reconcile with his family and come to terms with own personal demons. The last thing he wanted was to be with a chick struggling to sort out her own personal mess. The brief fling was an unnecessary distraction. Scarlett threw herself into charity work, glad to leave behind the glare of spotlight.
Initially believed by the cynical biz to be leaked by Scar-Jo's own team to drummed up publicity for the waning star, the blonde's angry backlash quickly put the notion to the crap hole where it belonged. The Scandi-Jew went into shocked mode, thinking one of her confidants betrayed her. But the truth eventually came out in shape of depressed Floridian with unfortunate surname of a much despised politician.
The only peaceful solitude for Scar-Jo, during that turbulent times, was in Scotland couple of months later, working on a movie that ironically had her admiring herself in the mirror - gloriously naked.
